You need to understand the energy efficiency options that will help you make the right energy efficiency decisions, save you money and build a more environmentally friendly and sustainable home that will last for future generations.

The Canadian Home Builders' Association New Brunswick with funding from the NB Environmental Trust Fund is pleased to offer you FREE information sessions which will increase your knowledge on methods and products used to build and renovate today's most energy efficient and environmentally friendly homes.

Lauren Lipka //

Energy Efficiency Manager, Trainer, and Consultant

CHBA-NB

Lauren Lipka is the Energy Efficiency Manager, Trainer, and Consultant working for the Canadian Home Builders’ Association New Brunswick (CHBA-NB) – Centre for Residential Construction Excellence located in Fredericton NB. Lauren’s previous employer was NB Power where he worked as a Technical Energy Advisor. Lauren is a Licensed Energy Advisor and trainer for Natural Resources Canada’s (NRCan) and works with Service Organizations to deliver the EnerGuide Rating Service, ENERGY STAR® for New Homes, and R-2000 Initaitive. Lauren is also a trained and licensed evaluator for both the CHBA Net Zero Homes and Net Zero Renovation Programs. Working through the CHBA-NB, Lauren frequently partners with other organizations to deliver residential energy efficiency training throughout Atlantic Canada.

 

In the 1970 ’s Lauren’s career began in the oilfields of British Columbia, Alberta and the Northwest Territories. While working in Norman Wells, NWT, for Esso Resources as an Efficiency Operations Teams Leader, Lauren was instrumental in the development and maintenance of the Norman Wells Project and led many indigenous crews to construct the infrastructure that would deliver crude oil from Norman Wells. In the 1990s Lauren embarked on a new career in the residential industry serving in various capacities including real estate appraisal, real estate assessment, energy evaluations on new and existing homes and has worked in Saskatchewan, PEI, Newfoundland & Labrador, and New Brunswick. Lauren’s training has included working with community leaders in First Nations Communities such as Eel River Ground First Nations and Tobique First Nations to develop residential energy efficiency housing strategies and to build energy advisor capacity. Lauren specializes in energy efficiency consultations to help clients build Net Zero Homes and/or improve the overall energy efficiency of their buildings. Lauren serves on the CHBA Net Zero Technical Committee (TC), ENERGY STAR’s Technical Advisory Committee (TAC) the Canadian Association of Certified Energy Advisors (CACEA) Technical Committee and is co-Chair of the CHBA-New Brunswick’s Builders Technical Committee.

Atlantic Home Warranty

Hector a fait ses études à l’Université de Moncton et est dans l’industrie de la construction résidentiel depuis 30 ans. Ayant été un constructeur certifié R-2000 et membre de l’Atlantic Home Warranty (AHW) dans les années 1990, il est maintenant à l’emploi de AHW pour la deuxième fois comme Gérant Technique pour le Nouveau-Brunswick et Île-du-Prince-Édouard. Hector donne de la formation en français depuis plus de 15 ans.
