This 4-day workshop is a comprehensive treatment of Canada’s 2015 Objective-Based National Building Code, Part 9: The House (NBC). The NBC is recognised in most of Canada as the minimum standard for technical provisions in design and construction of new buildings. The Code also applies to the demolition, renovation and alterations of existing buildings. This course will guide the participant through the new Objective-Based approach, providing opportunities to use the Code in practical exercises and discussions. A final exam will be administered after 2 days of study and again on the last day.
Topics covered will be:
Footings and Foundations
Chimneys and Fireplaces
Insulation, Air and Vapour Barriers
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC)
The entire list of topics is not included in the description.
